As much as I agree that certain trolls can be annoying, I do think they have a valid point in this case. We should debate this on the merits of the the issue, not the one raising the issue.

If I'm sending text to 100 as fast as I can type for 40 minutes, that's normally considered channel spamming and not a polite thing to do. I think a more reasonable approach might be to advertise the event and event channel once in a while on 100, and put the large volume of commentary on a different channel. That way, those who aren't aware of the event are informed that it exists and are given the info they need to participate and/or tune in voluntarily.

I think we should hear the non-troll opinion on this

Oh, I totally agree on the "move to another channel thing", at least once to see how it goes. I'm just annoying spuck here, that's all :P
