Trident Death-Match Single-Elimination Tournament
Trident Death-Match Single-Elimination Tournament
All battles are 2 tridents. Tridents may come to battle with whatever ships and personnel they want, but everything and everyone must fit inside the trident.
There will be a judge at each match. The judge will park at a location and that will be the center of the 'ring'. When a trident is more than 4k meters from the judge, the judge will issue a warning in sector chat. If a trident goes more than 5k meters from the judge, an alert will be issued in sector chat and the trident has 60 seconds to get back within 5k meters. More than 60 seconds outside the 'ring' is a forfeit. Warping out of the sector is a concession. Any support pilots that are exploded or leave the sector are 'out' and can only return in an ec-89 to watch. If the judge is exploded that team forfeits.
The judge will not choose a sector in monitored space, nor at a wormhole, station, or storm.
The match will start with all ships inside the tridents. Judge will have a short countdown after both trident pilots signal ready.
To win trident has to out-live it's opponent by 10 seconds.
Individual match time and place (system) will be worked out between the two trident pilots and the assigned judge. Judge will choose the sector.
Prizes TBD. Final two tridents will split the purse 70-30.
Tournament limited to first 16 registrants, or until three days go by without a new entry.
Reply in this thread if you wish to register. Matches for the first round will be assigned randomly at close of registration. Brackets will be posted at that time. Also reply in this thread if you wish to be a judge or contribute to the prize purse.

Not a bad idea.
I think this is a great idea but would be hard to get people together......
Only two tridents at a time have to get together. Some station battles there are three or more on each side.
All we need are contestants.

Well I'm in. :)
Great! Noted.
Why not in an ion storm?
I'd be down for a Trident battle.
I'd be down for a Trident battle.
No ion storm only for the sake of the judge being able to apply the distance rules.
Three days have passed since the last person entered, so registration is closed. Registrants please le4ts talk in-game about scheduling.
Anyone willing to try to record the battle if schedules allow? If so please talk to Greenwall, ARF, or Harpo in-game.
Do we need to register our teams in advance or can we just load up whoever wants to participate?
The only restriction is they all have to fit inside for the start. We don't care who or what comes out.
