Firefly was a seris on fox in the US a couple of years ago. I just started watching the Dvd and was wondering what everyone who saw it thinks oof it.

My main comment is it should have been called "Cowboys in Space". I do like it though. and it definatly keeps my interest. I can't wait to get the last 2 discs from netflix. and I know i will be pissed when all the episodes are over :(

I have the boxed set and love it. Cowboys in space is a little harsh i think. There's rumours flying around that Firefly will make the big screen too...

If by rumors you mean fact ( http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/trailer_2/ ) then yes you are correct. And damn Lemming for seeing it months before it comes to public theatres.

As for the series, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Good storyline, nice effects, and good acting. Can't wait to see the movie myself.

There is a fire fly based movie coming out soon called Serenity. You can see here for more info:

The reason I started watching the seris was because of the movie. I heard so much about the movie I wanted to see what it was based on

I watched it when it originally aired. One of the best shows of all time, for me anyway. Fox completely screwed it up by showing the episodes out of order and putting it on in the Friday night death slot. BURN IN HELL FOX!

The Sci-Fi channel's showing Firefly at 7 PM on Fridays. It kicks copious amounts of arse.

I saw Firefly, and I got to see the advanced preview of the Firefly movie Serenity, pretty much five months in advance. The movie was awesome, and I really look forward to seeing it again opening night or the next day. The advanced preview was lots of fun, some people sang the opening theme and almost everyone sang the song from the episode Jaynestown.
Anywho, I really hope that Serenity rakes in a lot of money and that the show comes back. It's nice to see a good movie without celebreties that get payed tons and tons of money.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me...

I really like this show, and I'm glad that Sci-Fi picked it up.

One of my favorite scenes from any TV show now is from the first Firefly show, where the crew decides to NOT hand over the stolen serum/medicine, and the bad guys come looking for the goods. After a brief firefight, bad guys lose and good 'ol Captain "Mal" is outside Serenity, explaining to the henchman's tied-up leader that the deal is off, no hard feelings, and gives the money back.

The guy says something along the lines of "Keep the money, use it to buy yourself a nice funeral! We'll never stop hunting you, you're as good as dead... blah blah"

So Mal casually kicks him into the engine intake. <poof>

The second henchman was much more understanding.

Anyway, yeah, it's on my TiVo priority list. Great show. You can see flashes of Joss Whedon's "Buffy" and "Angel" in it easily.
(And holy crap apparently I went to high school with Alan Tudyk.)

I loved it last week when River saw The Preacher with his hair down.

They say the snow on the roof was too heavy. They say the ceiling will cave in. His brains are in terrible danger.

I'm going to see about coaxing my family into seeing the movie. I don't know if we will or not because my mum just got home from a plane trip and jet lag is hell...
