As compared to Linux's horrible performance (for UNIX), horrible graphics (for anything), and horrible hardware support?

Ok, this wasnt meant to be an OS or hardware war....

Linux has it's strengths, two of which are speed, and good graphics, (OpenGL) support.

I'll allow you a little bit on the hardware there, there simply isnt enough device drivers available to compete.

BTW, any intelligent individual can avoid getting viruses, by installing fixes, and using their computer intelligently. Wintel boxes ARE the best gaming platform out there IMHO, and that's my choice of OS. I use a Linux box for server applications, and anything that requires work...
