can i play this game with a G3 with OS 8, or with an 8600? I have both and collecting dust at the moment.

I also have a TRS-80 model III .... you think i can load use the unix for it to play this game? (I think it is BSD very early version, on 5 1/4 floppy; I have not turned on this system for the past 15 years)

OMG! I also have a TI pocket calculator. You think the reverse calculus and one line display can be used to play this game? ARGH! battery clips are corroded and I lost the power adaptor ....

........

Is the sun out? It's dark out here .... damn sulfuric steam and damn the ash .... Are we blown up yet?

I think I am going to expl......

I think the minimum calculator specs are an HP-48sx, of course the gx will get you better graphics.

TI pocket calculator, OMG get a real computer...

@leothetuscan:

Minimum sysreq's is OSX. The page says 10.2.8, but I'm sure that's a sinister deal between GSW and Apple ;)
I have run V:O on a G3 iMac with 10.2.6 (or earlier versions even, I don't remember), having a CPU speed of 350 MHz, and in this very mac forum, i just read a post about someone running it on a 300MHz G3, so...

A G3 is the bare minimums, though, I imagine, since 68k Macs can't run OSX.

I first played Vendetta on an Umax S900 Mac clone upgraded to G3/450, it wasn't fast but ok. Since 3.3x I only played on a G4 though, dunno if it still works...

The reason we chose 10.2.8 is because of certain video drivers for certain video cards work better in 10.2.8 than in earlier versions of OSX. Technically I think VO will still run on 10.1 or maybe even 10.0 but the os just isn't up to par and the video drivers would probably lock up the machine.

Hey can we talk about the improbability drive again? I think it would be great if it could randomly transport you to some system/sector, and fill your ship with random crates of weird stuff like 'a hammock' or 'penguins'.

Wouldn't be too hard to program, would it? Just gotta make sure you dont wind up in the 'cant go there sectors' like the middle of Helios.

But should it be a faction only ship?

Or in the sectors that don't even exist.
