Windows is weird. For me, the radar has very long ovals instead of circles...

It would be helpful if you included info about your graphics cards so that we know how to direct you. Have you made sure to get the latest video drivers for your card?

Okay that's helpful. I know there were radar issues with the Radeon 7500 that I *think* were resolved. I'll have to check back for the 7200.

Ok, on the radeon 7200 there are radar rendering bugs.

There's a flag in the config.ini file that works around it.
open the config.ini file and search for pshack.
it should say pshack=0.
Switch it to pshack=1 and you should have a working radar.

Rogue, with ovals, do you have Antialiasing on? and if so, is it set to 2x?

Thanks for the replies i found it...

Yeah ray. Why, is that bad?
Jul 17, 2003 raybondo link
It's not bad per se, it's a bug in the radeon hardware. It doesn't antialias 2d pointsprites properly and instead squishes them. if you go into 4xaa then I bet the radar blips are half-size.

bumped, so a player can find it,

maybe a pin on this so people can find the pshack info?

thanks spellcast, i folowed the instructions but only got faint blocks on the radar, i then cahnged the drivers and the openGL driver solved the problem, unfortunately when i jumped through a wormhole my system ran out of memory and crashed!!! Now i cant load vendetta because of the memory issue. i am trying to run vendetta on a 2 month old laptop with 192mb of ram, do i need a memory stick or something or is there any further adjustments i need to make within the program? heeelp!!!! i need to get back into vendetta after a year long lay off!!!!!

What Operating System would that be? I was under the impression that the invention of Protected Memory prevented that sort of behavior, and that Protected Memory has been in place since the DOS era. :?

windows XP, and i just checked my drivers and they are all up to date

Oops, and to think I was the one to tell you to use OpenGL!

(Nelson: "Haw Haw!")

Okay, just go in to your Vendetta Online folder and rename the file named "config" to something else (you could delete it, but I always err on the side of caution).

Launch Vendetta, and voila! A shiny new config file full of defaults. That should do it.

pin for this thread, the problem is a common one?

incidentally we got his radar working, he hadnt reloaded the game after he did a pshack=1. once he did that it functioned.
