Killed the Queen on Critical Hive mission, mission did not end

Dec 22, 2009 Starfisher link
This was at approximately 1855 EST, 12-22-09, in Setalli Shinas N-3. I had a Critical Hive mission, so I jumped in with a gem/chaos rag. I killed the Queen, was told "Clean Kill!" and given various XP, but then the mission continued, bots continued to jump in, and NPC Vultures continued to warp in as well. Eventually free missile spam got boring, so I went back to a station and filed this report.

Were you still getting exp from killing bots as though the mission were still active?

I've been seeing missions with two queens and ones where the queen wanders to the leviathan again.

It used to be that if you killed the wrong queen the mission wouldn't end. Maybe that's related.

It would be helpful to get an answer to spuck's question. Thanks for the report, at any rate.

ladron: yep. I sat there by the surviving Trident and each bot I killed gave the corresponding XP. No combat XP though.

spuck: I didn't see another queen in the sector. My first thought when the mission didn't end was "maybe there's another?" but I couldn't find one at that point. I suppose it's possible that there was one when I started that I didn't notice, but hopefully that would show up in the server log.

It's just the only scenario I know of where killing a queen didn't end the mission. Even if one of the queens wandered off it would have probably been back before the end of the mission.

Then the answer is no, heh. You always get weapons XP from killing bots, but only get combat XP from them when you kill them as part of a mission.

I just noticed that blowing up the wrong one of those double queens only gives weapon xp and no "nice shot" message. So it's probably unrelated.
