Yeah, they really need to fix Temp KOS so it reliably resets on death (I checked with a dev and he said that resetting on death is the intended behavior).
you can do some whacky things with it

But anyway, like Spence said. In Jallik once, I was shooting a guy and he was shooting me... the SF and turrets shot him, but I never even got a temp KOS until I left the system.
