Sound issue in 1.0.7
I've had intermittent sound loss since the 1.0.7 patch. Others are noting it also.
Win XP

I had sound problems also, stuttering, pops, clicks, etc. I added the following to my config.ini file and it seems to solve the problem.
[wavsound]
bufsize=8192
I use a ECHO MIA sound card, P4 3gHT, 800fsb, 1g, Abit IC7MAX3.

In the Mac version, I'm getting some sound anamolies as well. Sometimes a sound clip would just spontaneously play and then stop very quickly. I've had the engine booster sound play for a split second while browsing through the station menus, and this has happened to me at least three times so far. I've also had a free gov't cannon firing sound play while randomly flying around out in open space as well (no bots around me). At first I thought it was due to lag, but it's also been occuring when my ping is nice and low in the early morning.
Now that arolte has mentioned it, I have also began to notice the Boosted engine sound in the station menu (could this be somebody outside? I dont think so, the sound is too short to be but you never know...)
The Gov plas shot sound has also happened a few times, again, it does not quite finish the sound (is it a sound that did not play or finish playing from earlier, and so being bufered, and played when there are enough cycles free?) I thought this was part of the music, until I turned the music off...
Both WinXP and Linux

Really, really bad sound performance. I'll try the [wavsound] thing right now...
Nope, the bufsize did not fix sound breakage.

I haven't had the cut off sounds but I have heard the engine boosts in-station.
I have had the breaking up sounds since 1.0.7 download too.
I tried turning the music off but sound still breaks up when boosting and firing too.

I'll add my comments to those of Arolte and yodaofborg. I'm on Win Xp Pro, Creative SoundBlaster Live! card. Since the update to 1.0.7 I will sporatically hear that booster sound while in station. Thought I was just hearing things at first. I feel better now. :-)
Yes, had that too.
No biggie at all, just sounded like a ship would fly by while I was buying cargo.
Actually, I like that, adds a bit more realism to the game. :)

Realistically speaking, you shouldn't hear ANY sound in space and no sound should filter through to the station interior because there actually isn't supposed to be any sound. Realistically speaking of course. :-Þ
Would make for a boring game.

Right. But you hear sound in Vendetta, so why just in space and not also in stations?
And a soft engine sound in a station when another player leaves the docking bay is a nice idea.

Still b0rked sounds.

/me goes out to the forum list and notes this is the Bugs forum.
/me returns to the thread and throttles both Laika and paedric. Luckily, since it's space, nobody hears them scream.
/me returns thread to topic.
So we seem to have sound issues across platforms. We have note of one Soundblaster card. Any other types?

/me says nothing. :P
/me gives FM a link to Apple where he can search for soundcards.

/me is a nice dog and finally gives FM the information that the bug occurs with the onboard sound chip (G4 MDD 1.25).
