I'm a member of a general gaming Guild, Fragger's Hall, which uses the tag {FRG} throughout a variety of games. When I first signed up for Vendetta, I of course created a character with my guild tags: "{FRG} TheMiller". Well, now we've got a few members playing and we created a Vendetta guild -- so the tag in my name is redundant. (It's also a pain for people type in, especially with the space that requires the use of double-quotes.) A few other guild members have the same problem.

This isn't really a bug, except perhaps insofar as there's a lack of documentation that could have prevented the problem. The problem with the space I could have predicted from the docs, but I don't think there's any mention of guild tags.

Is there any way that I could get my character's name changed? I'd of course rather not lose the effort I've put into him so far by just starting over with a new name.

As far as chat goes, vendetta chat allows for "tab completion" of a name. IE, if you want to private message someone. Or have to put in the exact player name, type in the first few characters and hit tab. The client will automagically add the space and preface the name with a double quote, you can then end the double quote and add your message, or finish your group / duel join / accept.

Thanks very much! Much amazement ensued when I briefly logged off last night to fix a game controller problem, then logged back in and had a different name. The comments on the guild's TeamSpeak server were along the lines of: "Wow! Developers who pay attention to their players!" (Expectations were colored by earlier experience with another game in this genre.)

OK, along with TheMiller, I too made the same boo boo. When you get a chance, could you please remove my {FRG} tag as well? Could you also leave a space between 'The' & 'Git' with no underscore?
