I was wondering if there are specific ports that need to be open when running a router such as dlink or linksys???
From the FAQ:
The Vendetta Updater, the auto-update program that executes prior to game startup, makes an outbound connection to TCP port 21024. Once updating has completed and the game itself is fired up, a connection is established upon login attempt to UDP port 21141. Thus, any modern firewall capable of "keeping state" on outbound TCP/UDP should require no alterations. Other firewalls and packet filter implementations may require specific configuration changes. Both the updater and game work fine through Network Address Translation.

I needed to make no changes to my router, but iptables needed a special rule.
Is there anyway of changing the port numbers? I'm at work bored out of my mind (no ones in this week) so i want to play at work. If i could change the tcp port to 80, i might be able to get around the firewall. I'm not sure if the udp port is block but the tcp port definatly is. I get an error the vendetta could not connect to the guild update server.
also what are the ip address of the update server and of the game server.
any suggestions would be helpfull.
thanks

Perhaps use ssh to tunnel it through a secondary computer? Or maybe even a loopback tunnel?
