Ok, its been confirmed, duels dont count to player kills. Why? Its not any easier to duel, and it doesnt stop any kind of exploit. The difficulty of killing people is bad enough as it is and I dont really see why people should be penalized for playerkilling the honorable way. Id like to see this removed if at all possible and Solra Bizna agrees with me also. Anyone else who agrees please post here.

now that we know that duels don't count, it doesn't give anything in the game except combat XP. in most societies where dueling is accepted, it should give something more. so, as far as I see it, one has two choices:

1) let a PK be a PK, duel or whatever.

2) keep one track for "honorable" kills (duels) and one track for "the other type of kills" (non-duels) and reward them both in different mannors. what we have now is pretty pointless. :-(

terjekv voiced my thoughts exactly. I personally have a slight preference to the second option terjekv listed, as I think it would add a bit more variety to the game, but either option would be cool for me.

Or at least have something that shows how many duels you've won and lost so you can calculate how many "real" kills you have.

the few duel i made was recorded as a kill in my stats. (only if you v killed the challenger. leaving area or /forfeit is not recorded).
thats why i have 8 sercos kill instead of 3. (i am serco and dueled my friend serco).

Ray and I just tested this, and we can't seem to reproduce the problem you're talking about - duels seem to count the same as everything else for player kills.

Which numbers are you looking at specifically? (Maybe include a screenshot so that there's no ambiguity, since there are a couple places you could be talking about.)

We do record duel stats, but we're not currently displaying them anywhere. Hopefully we'll be able to do something with them soon.

I think they are referring to the PK badges.

Duels dont seem to count towards the PK's needed for your badges.

Ahh yes. Due to an interesting combination of bugs, you don't actually get your medal until you've achieved a level two greater than what it says is required. (if you need 25 kills for the pk badge, it'll actually take 27.) Duels do appear to be counted properly, with that bug out of the way.

This will be fixed in the next update.

Well, that's a relief. (Almost all of my kills are duel kills.)
