A few GFX issues i have had - look if you doubt there is a skybox =D heh

I went to Initros and the station textures had not fully loaded, as i could see the docks, and some small parts of the station, but not it all (see screen shot 1) - I usually find changing resolution/switching to window mode fixes this, and it did, until i went to ukari l-14 (see screen shot 2) although the station was very complete, as you can see, the skybox is very corrupt =p

Loggin in/out fixed it.

I've had this on linux if I switch to a different VT while the textures are loading. That was a nvidia driver bug- might this be as well?

Hmmm, it could be, the offending machine is indeed a linux box, with a fx5600 card, but I didnt switch to a VT, or switch mode, but most my issues do tend to trace back to the nvidia driver,...

Quote: I can assure you this station is fully armed and operational. Commander, fire at will!

Tram.

Its a 2.6.8.1 GCC 3.3.4 with Nvidia 1.0-6629, had the station issue before, but not the corrupted skybox, no doubt it is the nvidia driver, i really should stop updating that thing =p

[Edit]

I dont usually have anything running except the X server, and vendetta, no wm's, no servers, its my only machine that isnt folding, so I can rule another process trying to grab focus out, but maybe this needs moving to the linux forum.

Yeah... I've had symptoms very much like your screenshot 1, Yoda. I solved it by
setting texture resolution down a notch. (An OS update helped too.) The difference
is that I'm running a Mac. The similarity is I have an nVidia gfx card too. I've had
occasional skybox weirdness as well, but NOTHING like THAT. Wow.

Recompiled kernel, rebuilt and installed latest nvidia driver, no issues so far...

Maybe related. I was running in pci mode for a bit because the newest kernel broke agp part in the nvidia driver and saw artifacts in the skybox too.

I found a patch that fixes that ( http://bhhdoa.org.au/pipermail/ck/2005-February/002884.html ). haven't noticed anything until now.
