New bots AI

Ok it seems that now bots are less stupid and now they try to find a good place to shoot at you and they really dodge your shoot, kewl, less boring ( or more it depend ) what i suggest u is to increase the XP reward for killing them as now its way more long to kill them IMO. I don't want to spend my gamelife botting to have nicer ships .
> bots are more difficult to kill its normal that we get more XP for killing them.

the transports still get killed in storms

the trnasports still run into asteroids in stead of going around them...

As has been stated many times before, this is already fixed, and will be in the next update.
Unless there was an update today I didn't know about.

i've also noticed a few station guards apparently caught on the *corners* of roids, instead of the flat concave surfaces. i have no idea why this would happen.

Hmm. Well, the bots have to learn their terrain, so it isn't too surprising to see this stuff. Getting stuck on corners is something I need to take care of though. Seems they're planning paths too tightly around stuff.

graig: yeah, more interesting/better rewarding bots are coming up.

thx a lot
also u should review the XP reward for killing players
i mean killing a 9combat player give u 150 or 200 xp it should be 10 times that !
and forfeiting a duel should make u loose 500 combat XP or 1000
its too easy to begin a duel and give up now... players doing this shuold be sanctoned...

and thx for replying
--> goes straight to my heart =)

I want no combat XP loss in unmonitored space. A guy still on a trial account attacked me in gray space and I took a -1000 combat hit. I figure, if you're in gray space, then you should already know what you're getting yourself into, newbie or not.

Yeah, in one cap ship battle, I had a swarm of five IA members try and take down my prom. Since most of them were ametures, I did, but got almost -2000 combat, because two of them were flying vultures at 2 licenses.

Earlier I found a line of atlases queuing up in front of a station entrance. The atlas in front was stuck, so the line behind him couldn't go. But they at least were waiting their turn patiently, and that's the important thing. :)

I think that every so often, there should be some random behavior for bots. For example, every so often a bot trader should just kinda circle a station, or an asteroid. Or fly off into space for no reason. Or ATTACK if attacked? What if one in 10 trader bots actually had lightning mines or swarms? That would be cool.

I know that the devs are working on new behaviors for the hive bots, but introducing some randomness into their actions would make the game more interesting. For example, if you go into a sector to kill some bots, and then do the usual, "draw 2 bots away into 3000m jump range and start backrolling", then the bots just leave, forcing the player to switch tactics and re-engage in a face-to-face fight.
If I fight backrollers in a duel, that's what I do. I stop and let them come back to me.

How about coding some randomness in the bot firing patterns? If they are constantly firing without hitting, have them spread out their target area to get a wider "spray" of fire? Purposely aiming ahead or behind their normal target would give 'em perhaps SOME hits when currently now they can't hit a backroller to save their mechanical lives.

Or, if two bots can't hit a player, more bots are called in to destroy the attacker. So it can become 4, 5, or 6-on-1 if the player is good.

[EDIT] Yeah, what GRAIG said. Bots, if harder to kill, should award more XP. [/EDIT]

I like that Lebermac very intersting but don't forget to mention the XP REWARD for those "supra cleva bots"

Crippled that was me. Why didnt you tell me you would get a combat loss? i would not have attacked you.

cuz I didn't care at the time. But the more I thought about it, the more it bugged me that I was still taking exp hits in gray space. And I didn't want to name names cuz it wasn't your fault anyway.
