Title says it all. There should be a badge for the player with the lowest duel ranking, and if you go up, you keep the badge. To go along with this, there could be a "best duelist ever" badge that follows the same rules.

Wouldn't this make it so that players would purposely lose matches so that they could get abysmal deul ratings like -35?

well one might not actuly want to get the badge..

Bring a repair beam or mining laser only to a duel. That'll guarantee you this badge.

I'd like to be the FIRST to congratulate "Who? Me?" in acheiving his goal of negative duel rating. I didn;t think it could be done, but apparently it CAN be done.
