Stock Bus- Sell in Package

Since you buy the stock bus with the battery and gun, you should be able to sell it like that too.

It used to be that you could sell a ship w/out unloading & unequipping everything, but players didn't like it because they would accidentally sell stuff they didn't want to (say you have a Rune Valk w/ Axia Accelerated Positron blasters, at an Itani station you decided you wanted to switch to an IDF Valk, but wanted to keep the AAPs, but accidentally sold them with the ship - no way to replace them at an Itani station).

I suppose it would be possible to set an exception for the stock freebus, but IMO it's a better general rule to require players to unequip everything before selling a ship.

It just seemed like from a practical and RP point of view this would be better.

For the practical reason, its just faster. Players cant' do this if they don't have the stock set up, so it is impossible to sell something good by mistake.

From an RP perspective, the government is being nice enough to give you these free ships, one would assume they like as many recycled as possible. Being able to take it back in one piece and sell it like that again instead of buying each bit and reassembling would be much easier and labor/time saving

I actually like this idea. It can get tedious having to unequip everything before selling a ship. I'm usually not dumb enough to accidentally sell anything I may have equipped on it. I don't know, but in my opinion we tend to sell our ships more than we tend to save up certain equipment.

So I really don't think that safety feature of being required to unequip is necessary. And if people make mistakes, so what. It's no different than accidentally buying or selling any other item. Personally I'd rather have the safety feature be removed just to save a little time on the side.

it's a simple case of lowering the game to the dumbest player, if you can't remember to unequip you favorite weapons before you sell TO BAD, I'm with Arolte, remove the restriction, and allow us to sell as a whole, or simply place in a double confirm stating: "Your sure you wish to sell this ship with all it's equipment intact? [yes] [no]. That should help newbs while allowing for quicker sells.

If you make a confirmation dialog, you have to make sure the dialog lists all the things you are about to sell, otherwise it'll be a useless dialog.
so:
You are about to sell:
1 Centurion Rev-C
2 Axia Accelerated Positron Blaster
1 Scrap Metal
Are you sure?
[Yes][No]

Heh. I second The Noid's tack-on proposal.

I would like to be able to sell ships as a whole, but I do agree that confirmation that includes the showing of the ship's equipment and cargo is a requirement if we absolutely must have this feature.

Well i agree with the general consensus that selling loaded ships should be posable, but i have to admit, i don't think i've ever actualy sold a ship. They usualy get destroyed or left at a station and forgoitten about.

Maybe once or twice if i was so poor that selling one of the stray hogs i had lying around was the difference between buying a moth to do some trading and doing the run in the previously mentioned hog, but i don't actualy rember that ever hapening.

on one clean-up around across the universe I made around 3M or so selling crap. a "sell ship" and "sell remote ship" would both be highly nice.

Although I think that selling remotely should have some sort of fee because you're basically asking someone else to sell your ship for you, and then wire the cash.

aye, take 10-25% off the value of what you're selling. or something.
