I think the -5% thing John suggested covers this, ok, its only 5%, but it is about time they either a) slowed stuff down a little again b) make guns faster (I prefer a myself)

I use the cent more than any other ship, and the thing just doesn't get hit.

Rockets are the only thing I have to fear, and I only have to fear those if I'm trying too hard for the kill AKA being too aggressive.

This is another example where I think limiting the movement of a craft in particular directions would be interesting. Perhaps making the cent better able to strafe up and down, but not so much left or right.

Or maybe you could draw a line on it. That'd do it, I think...

i'm telling ya' the cents are fine except for the ibg and rev c, and they just need to have higher lisence requirnments so that they make sence in context with the other ships.

Afterwards you get a bunch of you fangurl buddies to say pretty much the same thing and then you all collectively bugger off to circle-jerk in a small room. Unfortunately, your sense of pride would be a wee bit crippled if you were to accept that you were over-reacting by a small smidgeon when you quit, and coming back without any changes taking place would entail such an acceptance. But lo and behold! The devs have tweaked the centurion in some vague surface manner, perhaps drawing a line on it or something, and look! An excellent feature which fixes everything you had a problem with before is right there! You can come back without admitting your own idiocy now!

Commentary :

This troll starts with a satirical rant, written in poor l337speak . The imitation l337speak is a nice touch, though it is a bit too fake in its presentation. A more genuine simulation might garner a more positive response from the Board.

Following that, the troll proceeds to establish its main thesis of painting the original poster as a hypocrite. This part of the troll is reasonably well written, with fair amount of scathing criticism designed to undermine the credibility of the poster. We only have one thing to say : the overt sexual reference weakened the troll. The reason is simple; when a sexual reference is used in a troll, it is often considered childish on the part of the troll itself, thus distracting the focus away from the main thesis of heckling the original poster.

Finally, the followup post by Genka could be better : it is rather obtuse and weak compared to the original post. In fact, it is better to not post. However, this troll does still merit a "Mildly Amusing" grade.

out of curiosity.. can we maybe have a thread for the genka review board and link to all of genka's inane posts from there, with specific commentary on each one. Having genka disrupt a thread is bad enough, but the "reviews" just kind of take over. they were funny the first few times, but now they are just getting annoying... genka at least has some humorous posts that are completely off the wall.

So Shape, you want to nerf the cent just because you're not happy that people aren't flying the vult more. That's a pretty lame reason for a nerf. The ships are fine, balance is fine, what we need is NEW stuff, lets stop messing with stuff that's not broke.

Not when you don't advertise and only go by word of mouth. Plus it's the lack of content why most new players don't stay, not that the cent revC is so uber, which it's not, it's the pilot that makes the ship, not the ship that makes the pilot.

/me does a bit of a doubletake. Genka might fall into the annoying catagory, but he's hardly pushing the slippery limits of "Ben Ice." Nor do I see how any of the GRB posts have been out of line. Both are funny in their own ways. You don't like em on the grounds they aren't in line with these Oh So Serious suggestions threads? Just move both over to the currently unused Genka specific thread.

On topic:

Balance is a never-ending process. Sure it might be fun to tweak the cent a little, but that would also affect a dozen other ships and how they fit into the overall strategy. Don't think we're going to find the "perfect balance" because it's never going to happen... things are always changing. There's poor balance and good balance but not static, perfect balance.

Right now we have a pretty darn good balance since you see almost all variants of ships being used successfully in one way or another.

That being said, I'd be for shaving off 500 hull points from all cent variants.

The [IA] thong is made from special anti-twisting material. :)
