1)

You must learn to navigate. If your path crosses asteroid fields, there are good chance you'll hit a storm. The load screen is mildly outdated in that respect. but yes, those storms will last a couple of hours when they start.

2)

Nope. The exact numbering actually changes in faction range banks (KOS, Hate, Dislike, neutral, something, something, admired). But, it boils to about 1.3 bots PER faction! To go from -695 to +200, it can easily take 2000 bots. But there's a way for this to take about 6 hours. You need to select your targets. But better yet, the guild missions will let you gain faction points faster than botting.

3)

Get in line! We've asked first!

4)

Tought luck. Check your network and ping times. It's surely local as we're not seeing this.

5)

Welcome to Vendetta. Hope you learn to appreciate it!

for #2 i think he meant the XP gain, not reputation.

and 1000 XP is not actually that hard.

you DO need to take a mission however, killing bots by themselves will eventually get you there, but it will take a long time.

Go to a station and select the mission tab at the top right.

in my opinion the easiest way to gain levels is to use the "trade guild" missions, you need to do about 3-4 of them to get level 1 trade, which gives you access to the wraith.

It should also give you enough cash to buy one and put a few guns on it.

At that point, take the "beginner combat mission" and using your navmap locate a sector that has ONLY den-tek collectors in it. plot a course to that sector, then before you jump there, use the waypoint feature of the navmap to plot a jump back out of it to a safe sector. [ shift+left mouse click on a sector after the first one to add extra waypoints ]
This will allow you to run for the 3k limit and jump to safety if you get in trouble.

if you kill 5 bots without dying you will recieve an XP reward, for each consecutive 5 bots without dying the reward increases just a little bit. Return to the station as soon as you reach 50% damaged, not dying makes the leveling go much much faster, because you get to keep the increasing bonus.

If Den-tek collectors are too hard, look for a sector of kannik collectors, if they are too hard, find orun collectors.

In the event that you find the Den-Tek collectors too easy, look around for a sector of artemis collectors.

Keep doing the begginer combat until your piloting XP is level 3 (the mission will automatically end)

As you do level up, return to the station for better equipment, it will make the task easier.

Welcome, hope you enjoy the game.

1) The way I read it, the loading screen tip means that if a sector has a storm, it will most likely only last for 1 or 2 hours, which is usually true, although there are occasionally storms that last longer than that. At any given time there can be MANY sectors that have storms in them. But like mgl_mouser mentioned, you can avoid storms entirely by plotting your jumps so that they don't go through sectors with asteroid fields. Anyway, there's been a very large number of threads discussing Ion Storms, you can search for storm to find a lot of suggestions on them. Some of the threads related to what you mention:

2) mgl_mouser addressed faction standing, but I think you meant experience points required for licenses. As it happens, the experience required to reach license 1 used to be 2000, and they halfed it to 1000. It shouldn't take too long to reach the 1000 points for license 1, or even license 3 to finish the Beginner Combat mission. If you're finding it too easy and not getting enough XP per kill, try stepping it up to the more challenging bots. On the Beginner Combat mission it has you killing Collector bots: there's four types of Collector bots, from least to most difficult: Orun, Kannik, DenTek, and Artemis. After the first 50 kills on the mission, only DenTek and Artemis collectors are allowed. Killing Artemis collectors should give you enough XP to get through the Beginner Combat mission to Combat License 3 in not too long.

The big problem I have with it isn't the actual numbers required, but that there's little variety in the missions you can do to gain combat XP: currently, botting is the main way, and like you said botting can get boring. But this is actually one of the main things the devs are working on right now. They're working on making the Hive Bots far more interesting to fight against, with a wider variety of anti-Hive missions; and they're also now working on having Trade Convoys that will hire players to escort them, which would be another way to gain combat XP. More variety should make it less boring.

Actually, if you're not on a mission, killing bots will only give you weapons XP, not combat XP.

3) Yeah, that's something we'd all like to see, and eventually we will. But the devs are focusing on some other things right now, mainly the Hive and Trader renovations mentioned above, and the user interface, and the economy, and.... they have their plates full.

4) You can log in, but the station interface never loads? Strange. Hopefully when you wake up it'll be working normally, but if not post again and it'll likely be something that can be fixed.
