VO not available in a Box anymore?

I checked the links on the homepages and found that none of the two companies carry the VO Box on their sites anymore. Might as well take down the links?!

I think that software houses have to consider the cost of product sitting in their warehouses. At some point it is more cost-effective to sell slow-moving product at a steep discount and get it off the warehouse shelves. Vendetta is amazing, of course, but nobody is turning big profits off of it just now.

Right. I am sure when time comes maybe in 12 to 24 months a new version will hit the shelves in a box. :) I am supporting the devs. I still consider myself a beta tester even though I pay now. ;-)
Just thinking for new people who hit the site it looks real bad to encounter non working links to the box. Maybe replace it with a nice icon and download link.

Agreed, M. Duncan. Having broken links to your supposed retailers is amateurish and weak.

k, fixed the site.

Yeah I would consider myself a beta tester as well, and a year from now when Vendetta really hits the market, will be known as the founders in a way.

a little store known as Fry's Electronics in Phoenix has about 6 boxes left on the shelves for about $9.99 each...

I've been thinking of what advantage it would be to run and buy them, but nothing comes to mind unless someone is willing to pay me for shipping one to them...

Incarnate-

Has there been any progress on getting the box-distro rights back from the smoking remnants of StrategyFirst? I imagine it'd be tough to do once the company's gone for good.

Smoking remnants? Has something happened to Strategy First that I haven't heard about?

Didn't they go bankrupt?

*looks at their site*

guess not.

They were bought out. They only have box rights to North America, and frankly, I don't even really care about box rights anymore. It's nice as additional exposure and all, but I think our core market is actively online and open to a downloadable game. As long as we can keep the download size in the realm of sanity, we should be ok.

Hmmm... my Google-fu reveals that Strategy First filed for Chapter 11 way back on 18 August 2004. That sucks, they were involved with several games that I like. Who bought them, Inc? My Google-fu has failed me there...
