Ship naming
I thought it would be cool if when you purchase a ship that you get the option to name the ship whatever you want. When you target the ship it might say something like Wraith MKIII or something.

why? i mean if you can see it you can tell what hull it's using, and there really isn't any reason to expect the exact model to be identafyable on a targeted ship.
and if you named a ship and then forget what kind it is, well that's your problem.

We could have the display show *gasp* both the custom name AND the ship description. Or have it show the ship's name in the charinfo screen.
Since the ship is the player's avatar, and this is intended to be an MMORPG, I'm all for naming ships.

I think was Smittens was complaining about was that this must be the millionth time that idea has been suggested. Newbies, PLEASE rrads the stickies first and use the search function.
Names for your ships WILL come, Soon(tm). And you will see both the ship name and its type, unless said ship has an addon to warble readings (which is also coming Soon(tm), presumably).

It would do a lot for the RP part of the game.

This is one of those things that would slightly enhance game play. I imagine that they have a note to drop things like this in next time they touch the GUI for some more pressing matter.
A small step for the devs, a giant "Hey, that is SOOOOO cool" for me:)
