Notes saved on your PDA

Jun 03, 2006 Yuutuu1 link
I think that notes that have been sent and received should be saved onto your pda in some sort of form. It would also be nice if you could write these notes from your pda.

*edit* what i mean by this is notes sent between players if anyone did not understand.

yup

Yeah, I'm going to expand the /buddy commands to a whole PDA-centered "IM" type system.

While you are at it, why don't you also integrate Jabber support (and the ability to watch pr0n on the PDA?)

Actually, Jabber(Gtalk) support would be awesome. A great way to keep in touch with your friends in VO, eliminating the need for an IRC relay.

Yeah, Jabber would be cool. Open Federation for teh wiN!

Well... it wouldn't eliminate Relay. More people use it to listen on the chat than to be able to private message people outside/inside the game being on the other side.... To eliminate Relay, there needs to be a way to receive channel chat without running Vendetta.

Anyway, good idea on integrating the /buddy features into the PDA. I look forward to seeing the next PDA upgrade.

avirulence... think about it... do you really want to see Mecha Touriaus naked???

Lol, not really.. just don't integrate webcam features :P

Still, Relay could be eliminated when you'd create a Jabber-bot. This way you would have both the advantages of using Jabber and the possibility to use relay.

That would pwn..heck, depending on the resources jabber takes up, Guild could run their own jabber server, making it sorta 'official', though it would still be good to be able to connect to external ones.

jabberd is extremely light on, well, everything, although I'm not sure how jabberd+Jingle is. But Jingle would be overkill.

Hehe, do people want to eliminate Relay? Ah well, a Jabber-bot sounds much like another relay; this time it's over Jabber instead of IRC - it's still a bot right? Relay or the need of relays wouldn't be eliminated. If Jabber were to be integrated, it may make Relay's future Jabber integration easier...

If you want to eliminate relays, simply create a lightweight client that can listen on channels and chat with players. Edit: Or the devs could make their own relay; I suppose you mean the Jabber-bot is made by Guild. In that case, Relay may be eliminated once all the IRC users are willing to use Jabber.
