Seriously, Morentin, stuff snorting that stuff, it kills. Even I, in my sucky suckiness when it comes to PvP, do much better without an AGT than with it, and also do better against pilots wielding one than those using jackhammers or megapositrons instead.
Apart from that, I stick to my guns: toe-to-toe, free setup, equal skill, the Prom will PWN the valk. However, they are now perfectly fitted for their roles: the valk is the best interceptor in the game, while the Prom is the best heavy fighter. The valk can't outfight the prom toe-to-toe, but can avoid it altogether, or slowly wear it down through hit and run attacks. You need to take out a prom fast, you gank it, and if you do it correctly it can be done without losing a single ship. Nothing, IMNSHO, needs to be tweaked about either fighter at this moment. They are the epitome of their creators' fighting skills.
The maud, on the other, hand, is still a PoS.

Bojan is right, the Valk currently has a good role that it fills nicely. It's a great interceptor.

However, 2 experienced valk pilots taking on 2 experienced prom pilots can take down the proms most of the time using hit and run tactics. 2 valks can wreak havoc on the slow turning ability of the prom, closing in to attack when it's back is turned, then quickly retreating once in danger while the 2nd valk attacks. Battlefield mobility is the valk's greatest asset.
Putting a L port on the valk, as some have said, would make an uber agt platform. You could easily equip only the agt at 2000kg and still weigh less than a 2 flare, 1 neut layout which the valk is already effective with. Gat turret+valk would get pretty ugly.

IMO it should have a MEDIUM port instaid of one of its S-ports, where it could use any S-port weapon OR any L-port weapon 1000kg and under.

Valk is fine as it is.
The AGT and plasDev are the ONLY effective weapons on the prom, due to it's abysmal spin torque. The AGT is better, because it has a better arc of fire, thus people use it.
