The idea is flawed. You shouldn't be punished for buying a ship that <your faction> worked hard to produce. You're giving them money (the amount matters little as it is right now) for their work, which they in turn can use to further the war effort or something.

I concur with who?me? in that it should cost faction point if you lose the ship. That would seem fair.

Thinking about it, losing faction when you lose the ships is indeed better. (If anything, people can stock up ships...)
