New Deadly Bot Type

Nov 07, 2006 Lexicon link
I propose a new Hive bot type, dunno what to name it.

Essentially it would be a compact shape, a sphere or cube or something about the diameter of a centurion. However, it has weapons that shoot in six directions. I'm thinking 6 small port weapons.

It's AI would be to get in the middle of any opposing force and fire in all directions. (NO not like Last Starfighter...)

Of course, the weaps would need to be phase blasters in order to have sustained firing rates. It would be smart enough to know not to fire all of its weapons at once, only the ones that are nearest the target.

These could be fun to take down, and of course more challenging.

Whaddya think?

Hum, I say we should make the stronger bots (Arklans and various Assaults) a bit faster and more maneuvrable. They would kick ass then. Also I noticed that they usually only gang up on you 2 at a time, for stringer bots make that 3 or 4, and there you go waaay harder...

[edit] I am however completely "for" this idea.

In some sectors Assaults attack in groups of three, much more fun. Or used to, at least.

I like the idea of this new drone; a round shape would make it a bit smaller than a cube; it could have a better version of the Hive FC to handle all thus guns better, in case it has to fire all of them at the same time. Call it the assassin or hunter-killer or extermination drone. Make them appear in defense of the Levi and the Queens as the Seekers used to do.

Damn see, I looked for that thread but the Search function didn't find it.
Try it. Search for "New Hive Bot Types and the Big Picture"
How come it can't find it? This should be the only result! Gah.

Anyway, yeah, that's a better thread.
