Shot Hit Sound

When I first heard the sound confirming that I hit the target, I thought my computer was crashing because it sounds like the default PC beep speaker sound. Is there a way to change it? It makes the game sound old. My friend heard from his room and was wondering what was wrong with my computer.

it's the sound of the other ship's computer crashing ;-)

When will people realize that 'voting with your dollars' means influencing the market by buying the product you like, and not the one you don't like. Not threatening to not buy a product you mostly like?

Gargantula is basically right: that hit sound must have been imported from Space Invaders.

Oh please please please, let us have the real sound we'd hear if we hit a metalic object with an energy/partical beam at +200 meters in a near absolute vaccum!!!

The 'boop' is fine.

HA!

Make it an option or let people override it with a .wav ( like the skins)? This keeps coming up again and again...

Anyway, I love the boop. I might even record it and use it for a message sound on my phone.

/me prepares his screaming_noob.wav for import.

lame. i hired a radio announcer to do my voice recorder message. (no joke, and he was so flattered he made it a freebe!)

:-)

it would be nice indeed that the sounds be customizable. i wouldn't replace many, but certainly radar blips would be changed.

I bought the boxed game anyways, but I don't appreciate the sarcastic responses...

See you in game!

Will Roberts, another sound that doesn't sound like a PC speaker beep would be fine. I didn't say I wanted a realistic sound. This game isn't even realistic! Be real!

upper case, when you said "this is also a classic in many ways." I thought Jumpgate was trying to do that not this game. Don't compare this game to Jumpgate. I tried Jumpgate and was appalled of the high rating on MMORPG.com. Why oh Why?

drdoak007, when you said "i like how a small insignificant sound can prevent people from spending money....". I was just a little annoyed how great this game is, but the small sound was distracting me and possibly the newer players who come from EVE Online. I'm learning to get over it now.

who said anything about jumpgate? i never even seen it.

that sound is a classic mounty phyton clip.

"Ahh! I see you have a machine that goes Bing!"

Nononono, Monthy Python classic is the machine that goes *ping*. :P

perhaps an option to disable it, like the proximity warning?

upper case, I didn't know you meant the sound was classic, I thought you meant the game. My mistake. I know that Jumpgate was trying to mimic old classic space games so that's why I was comparing Vendetta to Jumpgate.
