EAX Surround Sound Support

EAX Version 5.0, Version 4.0 and Version 3.0 support as options or OpenAL.

Are sounds currently at 44.1 kHz and 16 bit with a high kps in ogg format? Also, sounds and music at 192 kHz, 24 bit would be insane, but great. The game still is small in size so far. About 140 MBs compressed?

For anyone who wants to see the difference in sound quality and for those who can support it. Download and install the Evil Genius demo (http://files.filefront.com/SEARCH/;3618638;;/fileinfo.html) and change the sound options to the highest possible and hear the difference! This is the first time I found a way to go back and forth so easily and hear the difference. I tend to reference this demo for people to experience high quality sound.

I see that the options on the audio section in the menu is minimal compared to the graphics and video options showing that the sound of Vendetta has taken a back seat. For example, the "no energy left" sound sounds like someone went "Shhh" and then the sound was put through a few fx algorithms. I know that gameplay usually comes first, then graphics and then sound. Amazing sound and music can immerse players even further into the Vendetta universe!

I have many games that support my 5.1 setup. It would be nice if Vendetta did too, as well as up to 7.1.

In addition, taking advantange of X-Fi cards's onboard memory and features would be nice. I currently have an Audigy 2, but I plan on upgrading sometime in the near future to X-Fi and a 7.1 setup.

[Stamp of Support]

Although I wouldn't hold my breath, I like the idea. Just for the record.

it's a good idea for sure, just not a big priority right now no?

screw eax. might as well go for something more standard like dolby 2.0, 5.1, 6.1 or thx.

but better still, by adopting open-al, they'd end up with support for all surround sound hardware provided your os can drive whatever you have installed. one source fits all: mac, winblows and linux.

Yes, at least OpenAL if EAX is not possible. I just heard OpenAL in Prey and it sounds pretty good. I wonder if it has reverb and other advanced effects.

5.1 and 7.1 surround sound should come before adopting EAX. EAX may require Guild Software to pay Creative licensing fees. Players need to have to have a Creative sound card as well I think in order to use it.

Haha, winblows, but it supports all the software and games I need to get through life. Works well enough for me. It's not easy making an operating system.
