We'll probably extend the time a little when we make it require a working email address.

It's just slightly irritating to see someone hop from trial account to trial account, able to form guilds and the like.

Easy fix would be to not allow trial accounts in creating guilds, only joining those that have existed for at least 48 hours.

Meh, I don't think trial accounts should be used for much at all besides determining whether the player wants to pay for the game.

Of course trial accounts should not be allowed to form guilds or join guilds.

Oh, and Aleksey: Holy crap, you mean I have possibly alienated entire apartment complexes and even towns with my overly-harsh IP banning on coalitionofitan.org? Hahahahahahahaha.

*bump*

Temporary fix, extend the limitations of trial accounts that one can't join nor create a guild with one. Not only does this ensure for guilds that they're members are serious enough to pay, it gets rid of gag guilds and also guilds started by one/two/three/four people and the remaining number being trial accounts.

Temporary accounts shouldn't:

A. Be able to create Guilds or help create Guilds.

B. Join Guilds.

C. Post in the forums outside of General, Windows/Linux/Mac, and Bugs.

That said, about trial time... most MMORPGs these days offer 14 days. If you don't want that many, then maybe 24 hours gametime?

If trial/temp accounts can't post in the RP forums, then we MUST have a mechanism by which we can post as our characters.

No ifs, ands or buts. It is required for such a step.

LeberMac: The whole of this village and a few surrounding hamlets are behind the same IP as the one I use. Furthermore, computers in this house are all behind one of the private IPs in the village, so I have a NAT translating from 10.* to 192.168.* addresses here. I do not think this is exceptionally rare.

Yes, it would be better to post as character, not as account holder

I am renting own IP now BTW :)
