New channel /say command

Apr 27, 2007 jackscream link
An additional /say command would be useful to target nation / guild specific people.

For example:
/say "ITAN" blah blah
/say "SERCO" blah blah
/say "DGCC" blah blah
/say "SCAR" blah blah
you get the idea.

This way, you could make your message appear only for those people you target. This way you could also send a message to a guild you are not a member of.

Basically, I would like to be able to invite all Itan players to a Border Patrol group mission without having the rest of the universe showing up ruining it.

Just a thought.

Well, channel 11 is already nation specific, ie, if you speak on channel 11 as a Serco, only Serco see it. he /say [guild] is a bad idea imho, I would hate for someone annoyed at a CLM member to start spamming the entire guild, ots already bad enough via PM.

Channel 11 should be the defualt channel instead of 100 when the player base picks up a little, I'm still not sure if players are auto joined to it (i've never seen anyone talking on it before joining it myself), but you could say, maybe before asking on 11, to ask on 100 all *insert faction here* players to /join 11.

Hehehe, this wakes up the old issue of "spy characters" from the alpha days. People with a Red main and a Blue alt, listening on Nation Chat for when the Blues were raiding the flag.

The only really secure way to communicate will be to use 100 to get people to join 11, then use 11 to get a group of signed-for indeviduals going, and talk in there.

How about the ability to create a chat channel (room) and invite people to it, yet not have it tied to the /group functionality.

/channel create xyz public
or
/channel create xyz private

Then /join xyz

For the private channel one must be invited by the creator. Channel names would start with a letter. No limit to number of members.
