ship flexiblity

dont get me wrong...the ships we have are good, and the designs ive seen from players are AMAZING!...(I'd love to see them in game)...but I think it would be cool if they had a bit of a customizable aspect. example...

a pilot has a Maruader with the standard 3 small ports...but he wants more fire power, a large port. he goes to a sation pays say...500,000 and loses 10-20 units of cargo space & gets a large port. or spends 250,000 and loses 1-10 units of cargo space for a small port.

conversly, perhaps they could lose a weapons port and get more cargo space.

or by giving up a large port, perhaps a back up battery.

for the sake of balance any of these procedures would lower the hull integrity and armor of any ship with the modifications.

anyways I think it would add a bit of flavor to the game.

I dont see the unbalance, gain a port...lose armor and cargo capacity. gain cargo capacity lose a port. wheres the loss of balance?

Issues with additional ports were discussed lots of times. Imagine Ragnarok or SkyProm with even more firepower?

PS: As for maud, there is already a thread about making them modular (so you could add additional modules with L/s ports, etc). Please, use the search function, or search with Google on this site

fair enough but can you inagine the Rag, even slower than it already is? with severly less armor? sure it has lots of fire power already...so, a smart player wouldnt modify it.

I still think the trade off...(gain a weapon or spare battery, lose armor)...would be balanced.

I suppose we just agree to not agree
