How about using commas (exact symbol possibly depending on internationalisation) in monetary amounts? It would make it easier to parse large numbers (e.g., not misreading 8452343 as about 845K).

The bank balance in character description, profit/sell amounts on the Buy/Sell screens, market prices etc are some places where it could be useful.
