Sensing a need for a real pirate ship corvus stole plans for the tpg raptor and the valk creating the corvus craptorius

This isn't really complete unless you post a hand-drawn picture of the craptorius, pey. The more it looks like a penis, the more points will be awarded for trolling.

not at all balanced.
unless you actually meant the 1,200 armor, at which point its basically a space balloon. What pirate wants to fly around in a space ballon (that can be popped by 3 hits by a raven... or one flare)?

Upgrade the ports to large ports, increase cargo hold to 900, reduce speed to 40, max to 120 and reduced drain to 48. Then you'd have a kick ass ship! Oh, and keep the armour at 1200.

And the KOS major nations might not be altogether cool either:)

I feel a pirate ship would be more prom-like in capacity (though less armor), but with much improved drain and speed.
A quick example off the top of my head:
Armor: 15000
Mass: 7500kg (I don't remember what the prom weighs, but less)
Cargo: 40+cu
Thrust: prom-like, but not as good
Drain: 54
Max turbo: 222m/s
Speed: 70
2 large, 1 small (aka megaposi platform)

I feel that if you want a pirate light ship, you should consider a mkii variant on the corvus maud.

because the ship it is based off of is called the craptor? :P the Raptor gets no love in the game so I figured this was a way to kill two birds with one stone and the last thing we need is another agt flare tank cause barley anyone uses megaposi actually when i fight a ship with a large port and a mega posi shoots at me im more suprised then anything else. Pirate ships also don't need cargo room because its so easy to dock at a station and pick up a moth.

The Raptor is great. It's what Mecha flies every time I actually manage to beat him (which is rare).

The Raptor is good for leveling and earning money by doing hive skirmish in a storm. If it wasn't quite so big and easy to hit, it might be reasonably usable in PVP too. I frequently use a Vult3 and don't feel that I'm at a horrible disadvantage.

a vult3 and a raptor are very different, infact the only real similarities are the two small ports

With stats like you posted it would be an infiniturbo valk with a SCP engine.

bojan i fixed the infi turbo but how is it a valk with a prom engine 235 thrust with 3000 mass is the same stats as a regular valk vengeance and an x1 infact a idf vig has 235 to 2900

Valk: thrust 225N, spin 7.0

Your ship: thrust 235, spin 9.0

With 10 more thrust and that spin at only 3000kg it would act like a valk with a prom engine.

The pirates already have an interceptor ship: The Hog mk2.

the raptor naturaly has 9 spin torque if you look at its stats that is where i took it from but if you are really so afraid of that then ill mess around with the stats some more. it also has less armor so having a bit better handling isn't making it completly unbalanced

a Traderinterceptor (Pirateship) has only 3 requirments:

a) 3 weaponslots
b) Its usualy 3000-4000m till someone can jump out of the sector the ship should be able to catch up
c) 10k armor

There is no need for Large ports, Cargoslots or long distance travel.

4000m at 210 needs 19 seconds (fast trader)
4000m at 225 needs 17,7 seconds (valk)

There are usualy 1000m between a pirate and his target. Assuming someone jumps in and both start to accelerate.
The valk is 1,3 seconds faster. That means he can shorten the distance to 700m until the trader jumps. Reminder: you need at last 400m to place a good shot.

How fast must a intercepter be to catch this ship?

230-240m/s would allow to shorten the distance to 200-300m.

My idea is:

thrust 235
spin torque 7
max speed 65
turbo speed 240
energy drain 58
cargo 0

Pls note the drain of 58. The ships is out of energy after 4000m and the trader can get away.

I like AgY's idea. I can see a ton of ppl complaining "WE WANT BALANCE"... but it seems balanced enough to me...

hell, you could even cut the armour in half making it a strict interceptor in opposition to a fighter.
