"None of which stand any chance of catching a hound"

Absolutely true... assuming the chaser isn't firing at the hound, forcing it to dodge and there by lose speed. If you choose not to fire while chasing... thats your problem.

Have you tried catching a decent pilot in a hound, Ryan? I chased Azumi's hound around Itani space with an X1 one time when she was getting her standing back up from hate. The best I managed was to close to around 500m and land one flare hit. Since then, the hound's drain has been reduced.

It is not possible to run down and destroy a hound unless the pilot is inept or not paying attention or you land an exceedingly lucky rail shot.

If I can take out a guy running in a hound in an Orion Rev C, in three or four shots, there is no reason others can not.

It sounds like a demonstration is in order. I'll get in a hound and we'll see if you can catch me in any other ship of your choice.

Anytime Strat... by my count I've popped you at least a dozen times and you've returned the favor twice.

Well, that's a different challenge altogether... You're saying you've defeated me in PvP combat, ever? First; what are you smoking? Second; any time, any place. Let's get this back on-topic, but I just couldn't let that kind of blatant bullshit slide.

Oh... that has GOT to be embarrassing... I only just started taking screen grabs of kills recently, but I may have a few others layin about.

Heh. A cheap kill in a furball I'm sure, or maybe I was in a moth. This is getting ridiculous now. How about this; we'll fight 12 times. I can log in right now. You win if you can beat me once out of the 12, proving you're in any way qualified to contribute something meaningful to a PvP-related thread like this. Then we can also test your claim of being able to chase me and kill me while I'm in a hound, which is more relevant to the topic.

Relax... its a game. You'll wait until the next time we're both on. I can't drop everything just because your ego has been bruised. You see, some of us have jobs.

Well, you seem to have plenty of time to make intentionally deceptive and provocative comments, so I assumed you had the time to back them up. You're just trolling at this point and attempting to make it personal. You've expressed your disapproval of the idea. It's noted. Now please get out of the thread, unless you have something relevant and on-topic to contribute.

There is a difference between trolling and replying to you. However, I won't be taken by your blatantly obvious trolling attempts.

Strat, don't talk about things you don't know.

1. CGH is ok combat ship for furballs especially. It has 1S and 1L port which allow to pwn almost every ship and spin torque is pretty nice too. 60 m/s speed affects only on defence against flare spamming (e.g. Strat's usual tactics, he can't win single fight without flares.)

2. When used right it's pretty deadly. E.g. this sunday was 1vs1 fight in Rhamus. [TGFT]Foo McQuux finally got out of station after sitting there for half an hour, piloting Serco SkyCommand Prometheus (21k armor) and was totally pwnd by me on CGH (8k armor) with rat, even not PvP setup. I was hit maybe once before killed him.

3. X-1 cathes hound with ease on short distances and is more than enough energy to destroy 8k armor. Just don't overload your x-1 with 1k flares, like you always do.

Raptor mk2 with rat setup (Orion XGX and neut mk3 or Orion XGX + Ineub or Orion XGX + starflare) catches running hound too.

Bad example, Pirren. You can kill Foo with an EC-89.

Spin torque is the same as a free bus. Try again, kid.

I think the real reason strat wants this is so in a fight he can hit turbo and spam his raven at the same time while launching his flare. So if we are going to be making suggestions that would bennefit our personal combat strategies. I want a ship with 1000 mass and 300 thrust and 5 small ports.
Dec 15, 2010 ryan reign link
If thats the case, I DEMAND a ship with 100000 armor, 2000 thrust and those guns on a Teradon. This would really compliment my charge in guns blazing style.

Now we'll never see a sprint-raptor :( settle down kids
Dec 17, 2010 zak.wilson link
Oddly enough, peytros approved of the first suggestion for a Raptor like this. Strat and peytros both favor light ships with energy and flares. A sprint-capable Raptor wouldn't be especially light or favorable to flare use. In fact, the extra length makes it significantly harder to pivot from a light energy leadoff to a flare leadoff. Heavies don't have that problem because they're usually using AGT.

This suggestion would provide another, potentially better option for the escort fighter role. The currently preferred ship is the Valkyrie. Who doesn't want fewer Valk jocks?
