Target Connection info
Add to the target info area information about the connection status of the currently selected target. It would normally show the target's ping, updated slowly (once a second?). It would change to a countdown for timeout (in green), logout (in yellow), or explode (in red). In addition to the color there should be a single symbol like T,L,and X for the color challenged. Perhaps even a little ticking sound to add some adrenalin.

This would be very useful to allow pirates more time and leisure to properly instruct poor newbs that are trying to figure out how to comply, but are having technical difficulties.
Please give pirates the proper tools to be instructional assets to newbs.

Maybe allow such things to be retrieved via plugin? I have no use/need for that info on my screen, and honestly don't want it there.

I think there are already a number of HUD elements that can be toggled on/off via in client based UI. Plugins suck and should be banished from VO.

Yes, they should, but only once targetls and the Pirate's Toolkit become part of the standard client, and there is a separate interface for player-run bots, etc. Right now the client is severely lacking in features that it absolutely should have (keeping track of asteroids you've scanned and displaying a list of ships on your radar are two obvious examples of this), so until those shortcomings are addressed plugins are needed to make the client usable.

I like plugins. I also like this idea.

do your local newb a favor and vote for this suggestion. pirates can become very helpful people when they are not concerned about a newb logging out in front of them. some newbs get so bored in nation space, that they would even go get pirated just to see another live player. heh.

yea this sounds like a good idea
Like the idea. Also like the ability to toggle it for those who don't necessarily want/need it.
