Stretch Haulers (Low priority)

Low priority for this one.

From VO-Wiki Ships Table, now we have:
34m Moth
21m Prom
19m Rag
18m Centaur
17m Hornet / RAPTOR
14m Atlas
13m Revenant/Wraith
12m Valkirie / Marauder

If VO-Wiki information is correct, then we really should stretch the hauler/cargo ships. At least its specs, prefereably scale up its 3D models also, for:

34m Moth
30m Centaur (+12m)
22m Atlas (+8m)
21m Marauder (+9m)
19m Prom (-2m, reduced)

19m Rag
17m Hornet
13m Revenant/Wraith
12m Valkyrie / RAPTOR (-5m, reduced)

ALSO, to make ship sizes more evident, keep same "zoom" on ship preview window. As now, Valks looks bigger than Moths, due zoom (scale)!

Hmm.. don't really get the point, Alloh. Most of trade vessels already are "flying targets". Stretching them may unbalance pvp.

not sure I get it either. moreover, if you're going to be changing ship lengths/scales around... let's shrink the raptor so it isn't a giant target.

Actually, they really aren't. The way the current models work, the Revenant is about the same size as a Centurion, and the Centaur isn't any larger than the Warthog. That unbalances PVP - those ships should not stand a snowball's chance in hell against a well-flown fighter (especially the taur), and yet they are currently used almost exclusively as mainline combat ships.

Seriously though, the Taur really does need something done to it. The scale is silly. That said, I don't know if I agree with simply scaling the current model up. It already looks like a warped bathroom toy; enlarging the current model without adding anymore polys or mapping would just make it more obvious.

inb4butthurt seriously models should resemble their stats. If it makes pvp so unbearable for certain ships then 1) maybe they weren't combat ships in the first place 2) there are other stats that can be buffed.

I agree, a Taur shouldn't stand a chance against a well flown fighter because it just doesn't make any sense, same with the Atlas (Type X excluded) and so forth. Making them larger targets wouldn't horribly unbalance gameplay that much because you aren't changing other stats (thrust, spin torque etc.). I agree with Snax that if it were done we'd need some higher res. models though. The Raptor should be smaller too heh.

Ok, edited to add the Raptor and comments on zoom on preview pane (display scale makes all ships' images fit in window, so all look the same)

About Raptors, really should be reduced. Or even better, as already proposed, make 2 raptors:
Raptor 1 - 2S ports - 12m lenght - 1KM radar
Raptor 2 - 2L ports - 17m lenght - 2KM radar
Raptor 3 - 17m - all extenders and scanners onboard, no weapons
