New heavy bombing missle.

I am suggesting a new missiles for bombing.

Something on par with the stinger, but that fires slower (x4?), has more damage per tube (x4?), about the same range, more mass (x4?), and are available in large and small port.

Some people feel that bombing is boring, and considering how fast you can drop a load as compared to reloading, it is a bit tedious. A new missile like this would take a lot longer to unload, but you would spend a lot more of your time unloading rather than reloading.

+1 to heavier&slower torpedo. Something with damage above 2 chaos Swarms (>7000 = 2x8x850) and speed near 60m/s. Ideal against turrets and cappies, almost useless against fighters.

-2 to small port version!

I see 2 alternatives:
-If guided weapon (active), can be shot down
-Unguided, can't be shot down, since it is only a huge plasma ball

could we just have stingray MkII that has another 2 ammo per tube fires about 0.3x faster and fly 10 ms slower,

that would be far superior to chaos to stack with gems and it would still suck vs players.

I would think a torpedo would be a much longer range weapon.

The stinger has a range of about 2km.

This is just a weapon to replace stingers and gems with.

We already have plenty of missiles. The problem is that they're never used.

Honestly, it makes sense for a slow, but relatively powerful, missile weapon to be ideal for anti-capship use. The thing is, we already have that: its called the Stingray, and its never used because Swarms are more accurate and do more damage.

Personally, I'd like Swarms to get a massive damage nerf, but also have their tracking significantly improved. Make them ideal for anti-fighter work like any cluster munition should be, but keep them from doing too much damage. At the same time, buff the damage on the Stingray or introduce a new mk or two. Likewise, do something similar with the s-port missiles, so that Gemini's aren't the end-all and beat-all solution.

A stinger launcher has more total damage than a chaos tube. It's just hard to get all of it to a target because of the lifetime, speed, and fire delay. Either the stack hits too early or a missile expires before you can finish firing them all.

I like vIsitor's suggestion best.

In addition to some minor improvements to the stingray, maybe up the amount of Yellow Jackets to 10 per tube, so it has 18000 damage per tube.
