Automate event: Nation Wars
Events are cool, and interesting. And Nation Wars have been, historically, the major weekly attraction in VO universe. Recurring.
Not allways there will be a host available. And why we need someone to run the show? The host could be present, or not, and NW should start on time.
* Integrate the weekly EVENT: Nation Wars with the mission system. Make it a permanent, recurring, automated event.
-Requires 4 missions to be created (Dev-made, beyond PCC tools), one for each nation and gray team in corvus/XX.
-Reward based in number of players present, 1Mc/player. 10 players sum up 10Mc reward.
-Last Man Standing rules. Event ends when there is only one player alive, from those taking mission. Engine ignores any ship entering sector after start.
-GMT time based mission. Event mission offered only 30' before event start.

Besides, why waste dev resources on something players can handle when we have bigger things on the horizon?

I really don't care if we implement Make Capture the Flag a weekly event before. It is easier to test something new than improve something already existing and working.
But I realized that the mission system, instead of only story telling missions, also could be used for periodic events, things that becomes routine in the universe, and gives players recurring reasons to return. Like NW, CtC, CtF, Races, Mining operations, big convoys, so on.

But I realized that the mission system, instead of only story telling missions, also could be used for periodic events, things that becomes routine in the universe, and gives players recurring reasons to return. Like NW, CtC, CtF, Races, Mining operations, big convoys, so on.

the interactive part will be there, you only need to take a mission offered in proper time to join an event.
A host becomes non-essential, but that is not the same as non-existing. If host present, he conducts the events. If not, event starts "quietly" (with public /100 announcements 30,20,10,5 min before event).
I never saw someone complain that events were bad...
I always saw Devs state that they can't host frequent events.

NW hosting have been a BURDEN to its host. Is it fair that the host also play a side in event? No, but also not fair to leave him out...

I don't really like the idea of automatic nation wars. I'm not against the idea of automatic events in general, but I've always liked that nation war is purely player-operated.
I agree with making this an automatic mission, but not with it being a "Last Man Standing" event. Event should recognize "Last Team standing" and reward accordingly. If there are no players at the start from other groups, no reward given.
