Right now you can't even jettison a ship as cargo, so the feature is kinda useless right now.

If we could drop them to other players the use of tridents as a hauling device would be greatly increased and much more purposeful to people other than traders.

This might have been an accidental feature in the last few updates but it is a kick ass one if done right.

Additionally, if this is added again, the former problems have to be taken care of.
A dropped ship could not been flown actually: If you launched in it, you couldn't move, you were stuck to -20 m/s and couldn't fire at all.
If this is fixed however, it would relly be a nice feature.

Sieger, that's why it was removed. Because of those problems. They need to fix the issues with ownership of attached addons before they can make it available again.
