Basically this suggestion is "Reloading from ammo stored in your cargo bay".

But an in-space interface for weapon swapping as well. This means you can change your weapons in flight.
The obvious downside is the added mass of carrying the weapons just to be versatile. This could be especially useful where reloads are far away and mass doesn't really matter. Like Tridents and some heavier ships.

-1. This just doesn't seem plausible on single seater fighter ships. Cargo storage is not the same as ammo storage, and should need manual (or at least external) labour to swap out. For Capships that are supposed to have crew, maybe, but not for single seat fighter craft.

I'm fine with reloads from cargo. I am not fine with swapping weapons on the fly (outside of a capital ship's dock, anyway).
