Shield Countermeasures

Other than bombarding it with missiles, there should be specific weaponry for combating capital ships.
Perhaps a weapon that temporarily disables shield regeneration (while the shield is still up) and ways to stop/slow the shield from coming back.

I'm perhaps thinking in the way of torpedos, low velocity, high damage, AoE. Weapons that have destructive power like nukes, they should also be accompanied by some sort of EMP effect (like they do in RL). Maybe giving the PCB additional effects, such as the ability to damage shielding.

Two Avalons is all it takes to drop the shield. What are you asking for?

I was more thinking in relation to boosting the shields -- we have to promote co-operative group work. You can't keep low shields after how long it takes to build one of these. After that (maybe) happens, this thread is for.

A shield draining beam weapon that does no physical damage might be what kierky is looking for.....

That almost sounds like an added attribute to the powercell blaster....

Change the name of the powercell blaster to an "EMP blaster" or somesuch which decreases shield regen/damages shields as well as draining energy.

In all honesty, I think the PCB is powerful enough as is. We have torpedoes for shields. Even with the increase it only takes 3.
