Here you go mate, get to know me there's some 14,100 results. Note that CrazySpence under the same search has 1,900 results (and he's been around since alpha) and searching for 'MrAbsurd' on the forums gives 23 results.

So you can read all day about who I am, what I did in game over the years, the real question is who the hell are you?

P.S. 'Dr. Lecter' - 4,650 results.. Also my understanding is he's basically one of the driving forces behind the lobby that created the greyhound in the first place, so he's kinda topical here.

+1 to less armor and trading the large port for a small port

The greyhound was buffed under the false premise that it was an inferior fighter. Its light weight and excellent thrust make it better at dodging than the entire rest of the Warthog line save the WTD, even with its lower strafe speed (60m/s).

Knock that down to 55m/s and/or cut its strafe thrust down to something like 220N and the 450N turbo thrust won't be as absurd. This ship is supposed to be a full-compromise interceptor, giving up armor and agility for raw speed.

Or maybe just cut it down to something a bit less absurd but still good, like 400N. It used to be 350N.

I dont' see what's so wrong with the thrust of the hound. I can keep up with it just fine in my valk.

Dear devs please nerf anything that is challenging in game...all these ships move to damn fast, far to quickly....slow em down. Lets make everything much larger too, my aim kinda sucks. I hate it when they run as well, can you make all ships stationary targets when I am behind them? Oh and armor, its been really getting in the way of my pks, can we make it all one hit kill type stuff. Please I don't know what else to do! What do you expect me to do, practice and get good at something? I like that I can sit an a dent now and let those boring hours tick by as I move my widgets, but seeing those breakneck speed hounds flyin around makes me throw a temper tantrum. Why won't they hold still so I can hit them?

Seriously though, if you can't catch another hound, go practice in your own more...it's very possible, just not easy. And before people up and suggest that the devs screw up an awesome ship, let me suggest that those people look internally before externally for the real issues. Practice makes perfect they say. You won't get them everytime, but if you did would the game still be fun? And if a ONE/RED/ITAN/TGFT swarm hound (all yall use em) is giving you pain, put a rail and a jack on your own and turn them to scrap. It is after all a glass cannon, that by everyones' account can easily avoid swarms.

Please stop suggesting the devs remove stuff, so they can focus on adding stuff. Those are the kinds of changes we ALL want to see.

I feel like this has a place here now: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/15/11971

Now, in all seriousness, there's nothing wrong with the Hound any more than there's anything wrong with the X1 (or, realistically, the Hog Mk II...which none of you would have better luck dealing with 99% of the time with the same griefer tactics you're saying the Hound is used for).

All of the whining that's going on in this thread has its root in the fact the Devs have consistently refused to implement a mutually-exclusive pirate faction into which cool shit like the Hound and other strong for chasing/weak for fighting toys might go. If you had to have at least home nation KOS, or better yet home+1 or full triKOS to buy a Hound...this would be less of an issue. If you look back at the original suggestion thread I created that lead to the Hound's introduction, and again when I pushed for it to get enough turbo thrust to do what it was designed to do, you'll see I pushed for some kind of exclusivity limitation. Instead it was dropped into Corvus with no limits but high standing with a subfaction that is mutually-exclusive with nobody and which faction standing you cannot ever lose...that every asshole in VO who feels like being a dick flys a Hound to be a dick is unsurprising.

That said, if swarming & running is really hurting everyone's feelings (and I'm not sure where the threat is there...it's nothing that can't be done with a Hog Mk II and such swarms are not exactly a challenge to avoid)...sure, make it a 2S-port ship. But you'd better implement some kind of crazy Corvus S-port version of the mega-posi to go with it (let's say slightly less mass, less damage, and better DPE), or you may as well simply pull it from the game and declare the Valk the ultimate interceptor/pirate ship.

I don't see the devs making Corvus a pirate faction any time soon given the fact that the Camo hound is a long term subscriber reward.
Sep 08, 2014 Pizzasgood link
Sure, just like there's no way they'd change the Vulture since it would mean altering the Anniversary Edition, which was an already disbursed reward and changing it might annoy some people...

Anyway, they can always just make more LTS textures for the Prom, Raptor, and Valk as well.
Sep 08, 2014 Death Fluffy link
I would be willing to forgive the dev's for taking away the camo hound if they in turn provided player owned Teradons.
Sep 08, 2014 Dr. Lecter link
I don't think Corvus is going to become a pirate faction, and I also don't see a change to the LTS reward as any kind of an impediment to moving the Hound to a new "home."

This is VO, not "I have a property interest in access to specific digital ships-Online"...and as Rin correctly points out, plenty of people got shat on by the AnniVult "improvements." No reason not to do it again and put the Hound where it belongs.

Misdirection much?

Lance, I'd like to see you catch my swarm hound in something carrying rails. The hound's acceleration handily outdoes rails at anything other than sub-500m range.
Sep 08, 2014 lance dogerty link
At 500kg less mass than yer swarm hound, I like my chances.
Sep 09, 2014 greenwall link
Extensive testing has revealed that rails are useless at chasing hounds.
Sep 09, 2014 Dr. Lecter link
Are rails just uber at chasing Valks?
Sep 09, 2014 abortretryfail link
No, they suck at that too, thanks to the way the game quantizes angles.

Ugh this is still going on? The thread is crushed already

-1 Leave the hound alone. It's a glass boat as it is. Learn to shoot straight instead.
Sep 11, 2014 csgno1 link
When there are a lot of enemies around in hounds I use a hound too so that I rarely loose a ship. The HogII doesn't seem to accelerate nearly as well.

The only suggestion I would make is not specific but more of a design guideline: The ships with the highest top speeds should not also be the ships with the best acceleration.
