Capship between the XC and the Goliath

Remove both shields and dock port. Just make it a huge normal ship, not a capital ship. If this is to be done. I still don't see why we need this, since Goliath is not very hard.

I don't understand using one ship as a reason to not create another when the VO universe is filled with ships, sometimes very similar to others. It's like saying 'the revC should be removed because we already have light ships with two small ports'.

The basic point of the Albatross is additional content that has uses and that won't break the game. As proposed it has similarities with other ships but is not completely redundant because of the differences. It's also content that may have a chance of being implemented before 2.0 if it doesn't conflict with the vision of the devs. If you want to hold out for player-owned constellations you have my sympathy, in my opinion that would absolutely break the game if done before we had a significantly higher concurrent user count.

Having another ship with more cargo would be something I would like. But I'm not sure it's something that is needed. And a smaller capship is something I definitely wouldn't want to exist. The need for the docking port on the capship is because it can't dock in most stations and needs smaller ships to haul inside it. Your proposed Albatross can dock in all stations, and hence doesn't need a dock port. Remove the dock port and shield and reduce the cu to 300. Then, IMO, it would be worth considering. Otherwise it is, as SIG said, change for the sake of change.

I also have a counter suggestion that you may consider. A normal ship (no dock port, shields) with 250 cu cargo, thrust 400N, Turbo Thrust 1000N, Spin torque 20Nm, Mass 35000kg and a bigger hitbox as compared to the current Behemoth. No weapons. TPG already has a lot of factional ships...let's make this say a Xang Xi or an Ineubis ship. Unlocked with the trade badge that unlocks with 500mil total trade profit (idk the name of the badge). Costs 500,000 c and 50 crystal for non premium players.

There are more reasons for a docking port than unloading at stations. It's great for mining and scouting ahead. Also would be handy if you had another capship and wanted to use them together for mining or hauling.

i might +1 this if it had a dock and no shields, but easily built and NOT covered by insurance. Make the requirement an xc in station along with a few other stuff. Consider it a mission to expand a single xc.

im actually for this, 2 turrets (1 top/bottom), no shields but chunky hull hp. (goli should remain lowest shielded capship but added back turret helps loads.
give it a dockport? maybe enough to store 2ecs. make it manu no insurance but not loads of expensive parts (could just make a goli otherwise). would be a nice gap between shield and non shield ships. give it like 2 small ports instead of large and like 50 grid allows some capship turret use but 2 turrets = no front weapons.

some stat ideas:
300k hp
no shield
250cu
undock port
similar performance to a goli speed in terms of moving.
u could use it for limited attacking but trades in grid power and lack of shields.

Having some miniature capship is quite nice, especially who dont want to fly golis all the time. I have both capships, and ist an immense grind (its fair as its endgame lol), but being able to manu something small but usable after the other ships would make manu more enjoyable, also give you something what you can use more like a casual moth rather than just a capship.

Basically an oversized moth with no docking bay but can dock anywhere. Shields can be on it, but quite minimal just so it not gets whacked by everything it meets (5k would be reasonable so it has some defense against casual bots, but easily whacked by anything else), paired with 350k armor and 300-400 cu cargo.

Also 2 turrets and 2 large ports, with ~40-45 grid so it can use at least one capital turret, and with around 1-2k energy cap and 80 regen so its not utterly broken.

It would be great as a mining ship due to its huge cargo compared to a bhm (with a built in mineral scanner), and a small and lovely boat for trading and casual farming.
