Shortcut for Plot Course.

It would be nice to have a button to push for plot course, for that matter, even be able to plot a course in the statoin before you left, so you're not a sitting duck. Once you cleared the area, you just tap a button to warp. I think this would be nice and prevent people from going blind for a bit, where as you would still be able to change your course outside the station, and use the Plot Course Button.

I agree sheep, I totally agree.

I dont like that I have to check my navigation for a run, and then close it, move to the jump zone, and then reopen it, repeating the process several times.

I think that the navigation should be changed so that you can plot inside a station for one warp hop, then simply press the Activate key, (same as in the old universe for WG) and then go. It reduces dead time in the game and also decreases the amount of time an enemy has to sit on your butt and chip away at you, since you cannot maneuvre in that mode.

Nav in station is a cracking idea I would also add that it might be rather useful to plot longer runs in advance across sectors and systems somehow

agree that plotting long hauls would be a great idea.......what would be even better would be if my plot course button actually functioned so i could plot a course, to get started
i realize it's a test, but so far, it has been nothing but frustration, cos the jumps and nav are non existent.............get to 3000k and jump ah but thats only if your comp allows u to, machines rule! so far we - there are three of us who play here have spent the last two days getting absolutely nowhere.
suggestion:
if the plotted course showed up on the map highlighted, then at least u would know u had part one of your mission right, and yes loved Pyro's? idea of being able to enter/jump, as a suggestion, would take it one step further for really long haul missions type in the system then the coordinates.
what is adding to the frustration at the moment is not being able to talk to ppl - yes i've seen the threads on chat, but on previous new versions, a glitch would occur, a player would type in the query, and someone would answer ingame - by the time u have stopped come to the forums for an answer, it is beyond a joke- and imho a time waster for the devs

Do you mean like having a map in the station and setting waypoints on that map before you disembark on your mystical journey of doom? Yes, that would be cool.

yeah, thats something that would be awesome to see also, for those of you who have played Escpae Velocity, you know how you could plot an entire course from system to system? This would be awesome to do in vendetta, something to prevent people from doing this would be a subspace dead time, like 4 or 5 seconds after you warp before you could warp again.

I really don't like having artificial timers. There was talk of bringing the 15 second timer back for warp drive, but I don't think it's necessary. It already takes a good amount of time to get out 3000m right now. A timer would just make that more annoying.

The nav system needs work, yes. I assume, since so many people have problems with it, the devs will probably fix it. About the distance, it is crap as it is now. Just consider yourself being in a system, pursued by superior bots/non-friendly players and the only way to save yourself from destruction is to jump. And now place this scenario into vast asteroid fields, full of so-called “large objects”.
The system being parted into different sectors is interesting, but since they are named after the Letter/Number system, these letters/numbers should be displayed.
It has a good side, too, however. Once you can jump and are pursued, noone will be able to find out where you went.

But how about this: an autopilot which, once activated, immediately brings you to the closest save jump point. It checks the distance to all larger objects in the area and calculates the closest jump point. I for one would appreciate this, as I still don't know which asteroids are “large objects” and which are not.

About chat, yeah, it sucks. Everyone knows. I wonder which facts caused the decision to make it like that. Did we chat too much in their oppinion? I almost get the impression...
