Right now it stops while the load screen twixt sectors does its thing. Maybe leave whatever thread controls the music running while the next sector loads? It might make it take a little longer, but smoothing the break in continuity from having the sound cut off and on every time you jump would be worth it.

Oh yes, this is a good idea. But as always it would be nice to have an option to turn it off to cut back on loading times for those who already have slow loads.

afaik, loads are more net bound than cpu bound, at least that was my conclusion from checking the framerate graphs during load ;)

Depends on whether it loads an object you haven't seen before. Initially it's very CPU and disk I/O bound.

Anyway, I suggested this to myself about 100 times in the past couple weeks.
