I wish to know where is every active players when I check the list on the internet (I thinking now that moreover you can include it in the game too). I mean system/sector nothing more.
I know that all the ship are moving but just the instant info.

And that way any element of surprise can be removed from the game...

thing is that in this game you are not tied down by what you choose at first so someone could be a "citizen" with every nation... and then could get info on where everyone is, and worst case could be working with a pirate who gives them money for info. See in that situation the info giver will take no faction hit because he/she is not the one doing the killing. but by giving the info they are as good as... the end result, it is too easily exploitable by a group of people if it is for just "your" citizens

As much as I would love to have this from a professional point of view (as a pirate) I can't see it happening. Give too much of an advantage to too few players.

I'm not sure the list will continue into the final release. We'll have to see and give suggections for the info we think would be useful.

Before the massive influx of new testers, I found myself constantly referring to the 'Active Players' list before every logon

Now, however, I usually only scan the list for buddies, which brings me to a great suggestion that has worked well for many other online games -- could we replace the 'Active Players' list with a 'Buddies Online' list??
