AAAAGHHHH!

I'm all for leaving engines attached to the ships, but please, please, PLEASE make the engine and battery stats they way they were back in the day. They were great back then.

Edit: I like the damaged ships going slower idea too, but it seems like a rather large task...

Hehe. Reading these forums would lead someone to believe that griefing is actually common in the game.

In the past week, I've only been attacked once by another player and I was able to successfully escape (granted, I probably could have won the fight, but I had cargo that I didn't want to lose).

I kind of wish pirates would attack me more often. I'm going to have to start flying around unmonitored space broadcasting "Please, attack me, I have precious cargo!" if I'm looking for a fight.

There are players (or should be players) who patrol the border zones regularly and will escort you if you ask. It's a bit hard for someone to grief you if there's another pilot ramming hot tachyons down his tailpipe. At the very least, you can burn clear.

Of course, I'd like to note that these concerns rise with the game TWO DAYS away from release.

For the love of God, devs. A week, TWO. Money be damned, this game needs TIME.

I thought the release date was the 26th? Maybe I missed something.

Ahhh, my bad, it is the 26th, sorry.

Still, with the complaining we're getting two weeks is cutting it mighty damn fine, IMO. Even an additional week would be beneficial, I think, for the final performance of the product at retail.

haha had me scared I missed something big

Forcystus, I'm not sure why you're posting that in this thread.. None of the suggested solutions add anything new, with the exception of making damaged ships slower, and as such take very little time to implement.
My only concern is that the problem might be considered a figment of our rampant imaginations and ignored.

Well, what I said first is merely common sense that I don't see people doing: ask for or arrange an escort, paid or no. Having someone to keep the heat off your back generally ensures that there will in fact not be heat on your back.

And I'm saying that the game needs more time because people are still suggested and demonstrating that this game has massive problems that need addressing before retail.

Name one.

Have you read this thread, sir?

The station interface also comes to mind. So does the current infinite-supply economy, although I believe that's being worked on.

Let me put it this way: adding something as game-changing as cargo mass doesn't inspire me with the utmost amount of confidence. They need to remember to make the lower-tier commods worth hauling.

Getting back on topic, though: ESCORTS, people. The Viper Guild. The Wolfpack. ME (if you're Sercan), when I'm online (will be tonight!) It shouldn't be that hard to get at least a little bit of cover for your heavy arse. Or, here's an idea, work with other traders to convoy and cover each other. Facing down one Centaur in a Warthog is easy. Facing down three or four Taurs spamming Jackhammers and Homers at you is another matter entirely.

If you had read the thread, you'd have known that the griefing problem is not as glaring as we make it out to be.
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the station interface, it's just ugly.
I can't comment on the economy, as I almost never deal with it, but i've yet to hear of any real issue with it.

I know it may seem like fixing what little problems there are will take the devs forever, but it really isn't so. At this point in development the devs can add and change things as soon as they think up of them. Those of you that have witnessed the creation of s404 know what I'm talking about.

Edit: if you can get large port homers, go for those. Trade ships don't have the turning powers for jacks.

There are plenty of MMORPGs out there that have infinite-supply economies and they do just fine.

In fact, when Ultima Online tried to emulate a real economical system, it was a dramatic failure. They ended up making unrealistic tweaks to the economy to make it playable and fun.

Realism does not equal fun. In fact, a diminishing/grown driven economic supply and demand system isn't the least interesting to me as a game feature. I'd perform that they work on more important features.

Escorts are definitely something that should be addressed by the players. Perhaps the developers could implement something that allows players to advertise their escort services.

This game as it is now, is certainly work $10 a month to me. I'm impressed how much has changed in the past couple years with this game.
