setting manually 'hostile status'

Oct 25, 2004 Quentin link
would it be possible to manually set a player to 'red dot' on your radar?
some peeps, i just know they are hostile to me and would prefer to see them red...

also you would appear red on his radar too, so if you want to attack someone, you could just 'make him red', he would see you are hostile, and would not cry "waaah its so mean to attack me, you were green on my radar". Because currently, when you want to attack someone green and stay relatively 'honest', you have to bind a key to ' say to target "hello im gonna attack you" or something :/

it would be cool if you could also set a guild to be red (a pirate guild for exemple)

would be useful too of manually setting a whole nation to hostile, im uit, im attacking convoy, and want the itanis to know im not on their side (just an exemple :D )

Meh, the whole "no friendly fire" thing needs to be taken out, period. I think the dots are really just a throwback to the CTF days, where there were very clear teams.

One thing that I think is important is that if you form a group (or maybe even a guild, but isn't quite as necessary), you automatically cannot friendly fire another member unless the two of you agree to be hostile (like the buddy system - one person types /hostile invite ExplodingPidgeon and the other person /hostile accept ExplodingPigeon, and from then until they stop, can hurt the other). The other day, I had the experience where I was grouped with two UITs (and two other Sercos) and we were going to protect a convoy. The UITs were bored waiting, so they were mock dogfighting. I say mock, because obviously they couldn't hurt each other. One of the less experienced pilots decided that I should join in the fun by launching a volley of swarm missiles. After respawning, I had to thank the pilot for making me spend money on a new ship and weapons. I didn't have to exact revenge, however, because he became KOS in the system and was blown out of space by the DefBots. In any rate, if you're grouped with people from different factions, you shouldn't be able to hurt each other.
