In-system Course Plotting

I, like many others, was a huge fan of Escape Velocity. One thing I liked about it was being able to plot your course many jumps ahead of where you were, so you didn't have to go to your map after every jump. Is there a way to do this in VO? For example:

I come out of a wh at P15, and want to get to the A3 one, but the direct course involves many roid belts. Instead of clicking O8, jumping and landing there, clicking C5, jumping and landing there, and clicking A3 and jumping and landing there, I click O8, hold shift and click C5, hold shift and click A3. That way I don't have to go to my map after every jump.

This seems like a small point, and it is, but I would still love to see this addition.

Another dead-horse topic. But I agree so much, I'm not going to point you to past threads or the search feature.

The answer is no, but we're all wanting it. So hopefully it will be added sometime soon.

not all of us want this. I think its pointless and actually a bad idea.

The computer will chart the fastest possible course to your destination. If you do not like this course change it yourself. I personally am against anything that makes the computer do more and the player less.

It doesn't make the computer do more and the player less; it just allows the player to do it all at once, instead of in multiple steps.

I'm for this.

Sometimes i dont want the best course, sometimes i want a course thats a little less predictable to someone chasing me.

And incidentally durgia, the computer doesnt always get the best course. Go to the Ukari side of the Ukari-Helios WH, and then plot a course to the Pyronis side of the Pyronis-Helios WH.

Do the same from anywhere in Latos to anywhere in Arta-Celestes or vice versa.

Then tell me the computer picks the best course.
