Group / Guild trade missions and Guild standings

Group / Guild trade missions

Currently trading is a very singular experence, and i feel this should change.
How about a group mission which requires teamwork?
Say you are told to move 200 crates of X to Y, and there where Pirate bots which attacked you when you went to one of the wormholes.
This means either the transports would have to be armed, or that some players would player 'escorts'
Also you could have longer term missions, or "Contracts" where you sign up for weekly deliver qoutas.
Say deliver each week 300 crates of water to this station.
The benifits apart from money up front would be your guild standing with that faction would improve over time.

Guild standings

Currently guilds are treated as just groups of individuals, instead of a single unit.
I propose that each player guild has reputation with factions as well, offering bonuses such as cheaper ships or more missions.
Also it would allow players to "Give the guild a bad name", and so your guild tag may become KOS.

I like the extended mission idea, "Contracts", what a concept. Perhaps after you have completed x number of or milk runs, they give you the real work. Or it could be based on the average trade lvl of said guild. Only Lt. or Commanders can accept these missions for the guild since they are the spokesmen/women for the guild. 300cu's seems kind of small, I've seen bulks that were that much. Perhaps a 1000, requiring multiple Tunguska Mauds ferrying the gargo while the others in the guild run escort.

Doing these "Guild Contracts" lets call them, would increase guild standing past the average of the entire guild with said faction. Something like total average faction + 50pt, and that those 50pt only applys when you are doing guild contracts, otherwise your individual standings still apply.

I think the contract mission idea is great. Later on we could have guilds compete for lucrative contracts. And/or if a contract goes untaken or is not fulfilled, then a GM could apply some penalty to the (st|n)ation in need.

guild standings... good idea but more explaination is needed

I think another cool thing for bidding on lucrative contracts would be:

1. Establishing or setting up another space station
2. Setting up a colony at a planet

- further ongoing bonuses for -
1. maintaing a colony or space station
- penalties if the contract is not completed

question:

How would people sign up if they weren't a part of a guild? independant contractor?

For UIT members only:

I think a cool addtion to the idea of guild standings would being able to purchase stock in a particular guild.

As they do well or worse, your stock could grow or decrease.

As a UIT member I'm always trying to make an extra buck, and I feel with I'd like my money to work for me.

Group trade missions... *ahem*: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/6352

I like that part about the contract mission also.

Guild standing...

Yeah, that's a very good idea, one I'm sure has been floating at the edge of everyone's heads. It makes sense. But it would be interesting to discuss the specifics. How would Guild standing relate to individual Player standings? How would the two affect each other?
