If those mines would make connection to all other close mines you could even create a giant bubble around a station and completely shield it off :D

The duration should be related to the area. So, a ridiculously large net would last an equally ridiculously short time.

fool, each mine would have its own power source, so the duration would depend on the point:area ratio, and larger nets would benefit if they're laid in only one plane.

Besides, what's the fun with the mines if they disapper before you can control an entire wormhole?

A lot of this seems like the idea of warp disrupt bubbles in EVE. Get a trader (or hapless traveller) stuck in it, and pop the under-prepared trader/traveller.
