Keep Sedina B8 The Fighting Sector

Mar 06, 2005 smittens link
Note: I will try to keep this as unbiased as I can (I started B8 with Samsonelite, Spacehunter, and Ayn Eziert :D)

People have recently been clamoring to move away from B8, and in my head I've come up with a list of reasons why we should not do this.

1) As the devs aren't responsible for its origins, it would take at least a month to spread the word around.

2) It's still a convoy path--ie, people like Beolach would still not enter.

3) Odia, as I think Shape put it "Is in the middle and would have the least traffic" Plus there's all the ion storms. (so if we moved it Bractus would be ideal)

4) In Bractus we have (In bractus and in surrounding systems), 1 corvus and 1 tunguska station (which you have to go through multiple ion storms to get to). Those of course are just the ones where you can buy something. In Sedina, there's corvus, tunguska (easier to reach), Orion, and TPG. This gives a greater variety of ships to the battles.

That's all I can remember for now, but please chime in and agree or tell me how wrong I am.

You started B8? I think everybody's been intercepting convoys there and fighting for quite a while...

Being Serco, I see b8 as *teh fighting sector* being a real pain in the backside, why not choose any sector that isnt on the convoy route, as soon as the cap ship flys into space, teh big fight sector will move, as we will have the large object to fight around a lot of people have been craving...

the only tunguska stations are in edras and odia.
there are no TPG stations in Sedina.

there are no systems that have both TPG and Corvus, or
even TPG and Tunguska.

therefore, i have no idea what you are talking about

Actually, we are planning to move our playground to Bractus E2...

A change of scenary will be quite nice.

Roguelazer, I guess that came out arrogant. If you want me to relay my experience of what happened though,, I'd be glad to do it.

/me is skeptical that smittens "started" Sedina B8. Al Gore started the Internet too. And believe it or not, Arnold Schwarzenegger started "hasta la vista, baby."

i agree with CP on this one, as far as i am concerned CP started it since it was he who always made me go there to learn pvp and ctc. and since i am the "sedina b-8 resident" as others have labled me, i'd have to think i had something to do with it's creation as well. :)

in any case, b-8 is a nice fight sector since it is a good distance from where noobs should be. though that may be good reason to take a trip to bractus.....

Errrm, CTC kinda made Sedina B 8 into what it is, along with the formation of the SAF, as thats where near all the vets were just about hourly, uhum, nuff said.

Pffw. Everyone knows that I started Sedina B8 back when it was sector seven!
Pshaw. Noobs.

I agree with Yoda. B8 is a strategic entry and exit point to gray space, plus the CtC etc...

Hey, I started sector seven way back when it was the deathmatch sector!
Pshaw. guide n00bs :P

But seriously, I don't think anyone "created" Sedina B8 as the PvP sector. It just happened that way because it's a crucial choke point going from Serco and UIT space into the heart of gray space, and it's also the first non-station sector where you can attack the Serco transport. Lots of Itani and Itani-alligned UIT would return to B8 to await the next transport, and the Serco would try to clear them out of the sector just before the transport announcement, or the Serco would wait for the Itani and UIT to return to B8 to attack them.
